Wines Historic Origin
Lions Peak, one of the oldest historical vineyards located in the rolling hills in the Central Coast, is set in the very heart of the Paso Robles AVA in the Estrella District. The estate is just a few miles from Mission San Miguel Archangel which was founded in the 17th century by Franciscan Padres. Lions Peak dates back to the early 1970’s when the California wine industry had a vision of establishing world-class wine that would stand toe to toe with ultra-premium wines of France. Lions Peak is part of that dream and is one of the oldest historical boutique vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA.
Winemaker, Sommelier and owner, Jennifer Soni-Arant, oversees each lot of wine with passion and dedication and recognizes that the timing of harvest, aging in the barrel, down to the presentation of the wine in the bottle is all reflections of Lions Peak’s overall philosophy of producing acclaimed boutique wines. The fog and afternoon breezes provide ideal growing conditions for the ripening grapes.
The Estate has been the family home since 1992. The rustic Victorian Manor House with its classic wrap around porch and white picket fence is surrounded by rose gardens, French lavender, olive, assorted fruit, eucalyptus, and pepper trees. Cool afternoon breezes from the Salinas River and Pacific Ocean are paramount for the growing season. The beautiful sunsets and stunning 180-degree panoramic views of the Santa Lucia Mountains are added features.
The Estate Vineyard focuses on ultra-premium, old world styled Bordeaux varietals. From the historical old vine Cabernet Sauvignon to new acreage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot vines, Lions Peak has created a rich portfolio of Estate Grown Bordeaux varietals.
