Lions Peak 2017 Proprietor's Reserve showcases the Estate's Vineyard Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon. The fifty year old vine block is treasured by the owner and winemaker, Jennifer Soni-Arant, as the heritage block of Lions Peak. The 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is hand harvested and is limited in production. The 2017 vintage is exceptional and is the continuation of Lions Peak's Family legacy of producing ulta- premium fine wine.
The 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvigon has been barrel aged in new Nadelia French oak cooperage and is recognized to be an Old World style Cabernet Sauvignon, typical of traditional French Bordeaux varietal wines. The wine is sophisticated, balanced, and exhibits classic characteristics of blackberry, black cherry, and tobacco which is enhanced with flavors of exotic spices and vanillin oak. This Cabernet with its depth of color and elegant finish is ready to be enjoyed now or will age for many years to come. Decanting is recommeded before serving.
When pairing Cabernet Sauvignon with cheese, we recommend these selections : Cheddar, mozzarella, goat cheese, and Brie.
In regards to food pairing, Cabernet Sauvignon is bold and can overpower light and delicate dishes. Our Cabnet Sauvignon pairs well with nearly all red meat, including prime rib, New York strip, filet mignon, and lamb.
